Designed in 1954 by the famous French glassmaker and decorator Max Ingrand, the lamp was originally called 1853 and later Fontana, in homage to the company of which the Maestro was Artistic Director for a decade. The first symbol of a timeless design object, Fontana represents the lampshade par excellence. The peculiarity of Fontana is the multiple switching on: both the base and the lampshade contain one or more light sources. The differentiated switching on allows it to meet multiple lighting needs: from the soft glow of a rest light, to an intense reading light, to an emotional and ambient light, obtained by indirect emission.
